Distributed Information Systems Laboratory LSIR

environmental monitoring and participatory sensing

Linking the virtual world to our physical environment through wireless sensing is one of the most fundamental developments that information technology has been undergoing. We are exploring techniques of managing data captured by sensors in a sustainable way, involving communities into the sensing tasks, and providing support for properly interpreting the captured data.

Global Sensor Networks - a middleware for processing sensor data in the Internet

Swiss Experiment - a cyberinfrastructure for environmental science

OpenSense - an open platform for air pollution monitoring

Wattalyst - Modelling and Analysing Demand Response Systems

OpenIOT - environments for internet-connected objects

NCCR MICS - Swiss National Research Centre for Mobile Information and Communication Systems (2001-2012)
